Marigold garlands and leaf torans can create a vibrant, inviting entryway for Choti Diwali. Their charm lies in their color, texture, and the shared experience of decorating the home. An arrangement does not need to be changed simply because a new festival day starts, as long as it stays fresh and appropriate.

Choose one main decoration

A doorway toran can adorn the entire entrance. Instead of covering every surface, place a small bowl of flowers or a simple rangoli. Having a clear focal point is easier to upkeep and helps a small home feel more spacious.

Prepare before guests arrive

Measure the doorway and install sturdy hooks or removable fixtures suitable for the surface. Ensure garlands are kept clear of door hinges, electrical components, and any flames. In communal buildings, verify that decorations do not obstruct shared access pathways.

Source with care

Purchase only what you can utilize. If customary leaves are not accessible, select a different option without asserting that a different plant holds the same ritual significance. Avoid taking leaves from public trees or landscaping.

Plan the next morning

Inspect flowers for wilting and clear away any fallen debris from walkways. Before discarding, separate biodegradable decorations from wire, plastic ties, and tape. A well-designed toran continues to look inviting beyond the initial photo, keeping doors and pathways accessible.
